YAY! GDPR Features & Updates

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) came into effect on May 25, 2018 and has replaced the existing EU data protection law.

GDPR gives individuals control over how their personal information is stored and used by businesses.

While Shedul is ensuring our systems and processes are compliant with GDPR, you have a responsibility as a Controller to make sure your business practices are also compliant. To make this easier for you, we've made some feature releases and updates specifically for GDPR.

You'll find under Clients we have added a tick box to the Client Card to help you keep track of who has opted in or out of receiving marketing messages from you. Although Shedul does not have the features to send marketing materials just yet, we've add this feature to help you keep track.

When you export your client list, you’ll also clearly be able to see who has opted in or out of receiving marketing emails from your business.

Marketing messages are separate to Shedul’s automated Client Notifications and the marketing check box will not effect your client notifications. If your client has informed you that they no longer wish to receive Appointment Notifications, you can also disable this on their Client Card by going to "Appointment notification type" and updating their status to  "Don't send notifications".

Please note: by Shedul being GDPR compliant, this does not automatically make your business compliant by default.
